North Hall vs Carver 2021
1st Round of Playoffs in 2021. North Hall has 14 players in street clothes due to injuries and lose two key players during the game. Things did not go well this evening. North Hall loses big to Carver who went on to be the state runner up.

What was supposed to be a rebuild year, most likely out of the playoffs and an 0-3 start. The Trojans take on North Murray at the Brickyard and extend their home playoff record to 14 straight.

After a long first quarter TD drive by Gilmer, the Trojans defense stiffened up and Clark Howell and the offense exploded. Howell goes for 232 on the night as the Trojans win 33-13 in Ellijay and solidify a playoff spot for the 6th straight season.

It is such a great running game and they really control the defensive line and the next level when LBs blitz and I just love to see a team that can just run all over a team it just shows that they are well coached and buy into the game. Great job!

Systems run with rules and precision will score points…does not matter the offense. Unfortunately, everyone wants fluff

Well, it has worked in GA, AR, VA, KY, FL, SC…anything coached well and systematic can work anywhere, especially with the right kids
How come you only pull the backside guard? What rule is your playside guard following?
So in certain alignments, we pull one because the buck turns to power in order to secure the playside a gap due to an a gap threat
On 1st play, that OLB should NOT have went after the QB... Good Defensive Prep/Keys are essential to stopping this play... but maybe the OLB is just incapable of understanding this concept
Totally agree that prep is critical to stopping this offense as well as any other

Hi coach. Was there ever any fear over losing ppayers due to not being in gun? If you were taking over a program in California or florida would you use more gun?
No. I knew some kids would not play and that was ok with me. I believe in being true to who you are. Would I use more gun? Depends on the situation.
When we scouted Lovett, we saw GAC pick up 10+ yards every time they ran iso. I wrote “BLAST” on the board..I asked them if they wanted to win…if so, we will run this all night long…and we did. They snapped the ball 13x the second half and 3x in the 4th.
What did you see that lead to the plan to run belly / blast that many times? Was it a personnel advantage or a scheme advantage?
We saw another team have success running b gap iso, so we decided that we would make a run at doing the same thing
First two plays you run are the definition of IF - THEN play-calling. Was the second play midline or belly keep?
It was midline weak. We also could have run the sweep off the belly as the OLB did fall in on the belly, it was a bit late, but his eyes were on the FB.
I see sometimes you set your wing outside the TE in a standard wing-t, and sometimes I see you split the TE wider and line the wing between the tackle and TE. I,m more familiar with Delaware Wing-T nomenclature. What’s your call for this alignment? Do you get a better angle on the down blocks or what do you look for in this formation?
If I have a wing that struggles on the down block, we just switch. The other thing was the team we were facing was placing an athletic guy on our TE who is a great athlete and tried to handle him in passing situations which helped us in running downs in this set

@ECoachInn traditional wishbone has 3 running backs behind the qb. I did not see that in the video. A quick Google search will give a a full description of what is should look like
@@mr.gilliam5597 correct!! We spend a lot of time in 2T full house, but you can break the bone and use the qB as the 3rd back on many of our runs and traps
Coach yelling out the penalties, I feel your pain. I do the same thing watching these clips online.
Speaking as a former 2 way HS tackle, I can honestly say that it was definitely the easiest offense for a offensive lineman to to block for and the hardest offense for a down lineman to defend against. Hopefully some desperate big time div. 1 program will pick it up have success with it and it will multiply once again as it did in the 70's. It is a thing of beauty when run properly and is surely missed by anyone old enough to have seen it in its prime.
This is the most dynamic offense ever invented.
What is the companion play to this. Quick trap? Do you ever motion the FB out to the edge. Just curious.
Truth is, we like to run trap off the quick pitch action. If the ILB flies out, we like to run trap. We have the weak belly, trap, quick pitch, counter and power out of our twins TE set as well as midline weak.
Easily stop it with a 4-3 flex defense cratAed by Tom Landry problem is no one knows how to coach it lol
Last man with the pen wins. Since we can call everything at the LOS…it makes this offense something that no defense other than a few hard to stop. 4-3(flex), 6-2, 5-2, 5-3, 6-3…yes 6-3, 4-4…seen em all…
Even managed to fool the camera man a few times 😁
Even 30 years ago the kids where so much more physical.

IN THE 90S IN HAMPTON VA...THE FOUR MAJOR TEAMS PLAYED A 6 2 3 DEFENSE SO THE WISHBONE WILL NEVER WORK ON US. EVER! WE PROVED IT

When you fake to Fb then halfback..to throw pass.. We called it Drive series...also belly series....can give ball to fb ..or halfback....what did u call and is there i site that shows blocking rules
We dont have a website for these items. Our system is truly proprietary in terms of numbering, audible system and blocking. No one calls this like we do and I do mean "no one" unless they purchased the system from us.

Head Coach in 12-13 running bone was Bob Christmas. I was his OC and then became the HC following his exit back to VA
